The very first Pétillant Naturel of the Hermann J. Wiemer and Standing Stone story!
While Méthode Traditionnelle has been our standard at Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard since Hermann began practicing it in 1983—and later at Standing Stone beginning in 2017—we were excited to explore a more spontaneous sparkling style, leaning on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, whose fermentations and site expressions we know well. With such beautiful, healthy fruit in 2024, trying a new approach felt both thoughtful and creatively aligned with what the season gave us, as did the method. Pétillant Naturel is one of the lowest-intervention sparkling styles, and its gently wild, native-yeast character aligns closely with our ethos of allowing the site and fruit to lead the way.
This wine is bright and ripe with notes of lemon curd under creamy meringue. Share with friends over charcuterie and apps before an evening out.
